Android to beat iPhone in 2012

According to a market research from Informa, Android smartphones will surpass the iPhone in term of sales in the year 2012. This was pretty much predictable and most of us hope it will happen alot sooner.
I mean we know and admit that the iPhone is a great device but it’s hard for a single phone to beat the large amount of Android Phones to be released from all major manufacturers like Samsung, Sony Ericsson, Asus and others. Let aside the million of small phone companies based in Asia that will most likely embrace the open source Android OS.
At the moment this artice is written there are only two Android phones on the market, both made by HTC, the Dream and the Magic, yet the graph above shows that Android web usage is 6% of total smartphone web browsing. That’s close to Symbian and Windows mobile. In 6 months with two phones. Imagine in 2 years with dosens of phones.
